Swimming and Water Safety
Halton Holegate Church of England Primary School actively promotes Swimming and Water Safety for all our children.
Our children go swimming through out the academic year. Class 3 attend swimming lessons through Terms 2, Class 2 through Terms 3 and Class 1 through Terms 4.
Our children swim every Tuesday for a hour with JB Sports. However 2020/2021 we are still waiting because of Covid 19 guidance.
Our year 6 cohort is a small cohort of children of which 50% are meeting the national curriculum requirement to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres, use a range of strokes effectively and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
